The Carinity Fassifern Community Centre is a social hub offering a wide variety of services. We’re always on the look-out for passionate people who are willing to lend a hand and give back to the Scenic Rim community.
There is no commitment required and full training is provided, so please get in touch if you are interested in any of the following volunteering opportunities.
Café & catering
Our centre provides catering services each week that include morning teas for social groups, weekly community BBQ lunches and our very own social enterprise, Community Café 11. We’d love to welcome more volunteers to our kitchen team, especially on Thursday or Friday mornings, which are our busiest times.
Community outreach
The Carinity Connections Project provides home maintenance services like lawn mowing, whipper snipping, weeding gardens, rubbish removal, dump runs and small errands. The initiative relies on volunteers to provide practical support to vulnerable and elderly community members.
Logistics & administration
There’s a lot involved in running a successful community centre and many hands make light work! The duties that help us keep the cogs turning include setting up activity spaces for bookings, assisting community members take resources to their vehicles, supporting our administration staff and basic cleaning tasks.
Garden & grounds maintenance
Our property has been nurtured by many green thumbs over the years, which is a source of pride for the community. We’re looking for more gardening enthusiasts to keep the grounds looking amazing. We’re also seeking volunteers to help grow a community vegetable garden, which is part of our Cottage Crops initiative.
