Child & Youth Counselling

We provide specialist counselling for children and young people up to 17 years who have witnessed, at risk or experienced domestic and family violence.

Carinity provides young people a safe place to express their feelings about their experiences, and provides the professional support to develop coping skills, to strengthen their self-esteem and understand their behaviours and symptoms relating to their trauma. We work alongside the young person and their protective parent, carers, and school staff to help children and young people grow into happy, healthy adults.

Counselling, therapy and support group sessions are also available for parents, foster and kinship carers, guardians, school affiliates or anyone who lives or works with a child or young person.

You do not need a formal referral to be part of this program. DV services, school counsellors, youth workers, teachers and others who work with children and young people can informally refer children, young people and families to this program.
