Community Centre & Meeting Spaces

A strong sense of community can make all the difference in rural and regional areas. As a social hub, they are a place where people new to the district can learn what is available and be assisted to connect with services.

Carinity have a dedicated, government-funded, community centre in Boonah, North Brisbane.

We also have 2 local meeting spaces in Beaudesert and Toogoolawah, where local groups and organisations are welcome to meet and share.

Opening Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 9am – 3pm, Wednesdays 9am – 12.30pm

Fassifern Community Centre provides a wide range of services that encourage an inclusive community. As a social hub, it’s a place where anyone can drop in and feel like you really are a part of community life. Services include:

  • Education and training courses;
  • Exercise classes, support groups and social activities;
  • Range of support services for people with disability.

The community centre also acts as a Centrelink agent.

Illoura, Beaudesert

Carinity Illoura is a community hub dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing in the Beaudesert community. The family-friendly centre provides counselling services to individuals, couples, families, children and young people, as well as running activities such as art and craft classes, parenting courses, family fun days and community groups.

Our community and disability support centre in the Brisbane Valley offers one-on-one support, modelling the services around individual needs and supporting people to live as independently as possible.

Social activities, support groups and outings form an important part of our service, providing a platform for friendship, community linking and integration.

A wide range of activities and support services are available, including:

  • Social and support groups;
  • Social excursions;
  • Youth activities program;
  • Life skills development programs such as personal care, cooking, shopping, budgeting, financial management, and more;
  • Flexible disability respite, including day and overnight respite and in-home support;
  • Case management and self-directed support for people with disability.
