Carinity Hilltop – Positive COVID-19 case

Carinity has been advised that a fully vaccinated staff member at our Hilltop residential aged care community has tested positive to COVID-19.

Following the direction of the Public Health Unit, non-essential visits to Hilltop have been suspended until further notice.

Pathology tests for residents and staff will be requested with the government approved pathology service group and we will advise you as soon as these tests have been conducted.

We have implemented infection control procedures, including staff wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) and limiting resident movement within the community. Enhanced monitoring of residents for any COVID-19 symptoms has commenced.

The team at Hilltop is working hard to ensure all steps are taken to limit the risk of the virus spreading through the community.

Contact tracing of visitors will occur and any family or friends who visited Hilltop while the affected staff member was working will be notified by text message when the tracing has been completed.

If you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms we urge you to undertake a test as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience under these difficult circumstances and will provide you with regular updates regarding the results of testing as soon as they are available. Our COVID-19 information line is also available and can be accessed by calling 07 3550 3746 or emailing covid19qanda@carinity.org.au.
