Enid celebrates her 102nd birthday

Enid Lincoln celebrated her 102nd birthday with family and her friends at her home, the Carinity Cedarbrook aged care community in Mudgeeraba, on February 21.

Born in Wellington, New Zealand in 1918 before living most of her life in Brisbane, Enid wed her husband Harry Lincoln four days before her 19th birthday.

Enid and Harry were married for 70 years and together the couple had six children – three boys and three girls.

When Enid’s youngest children were two and four, Enid’s mother became ill and Enid cared for her over 15 years.

In her younger years Enid worked as a seamstress in the clothing manufacturing industry, and on weekends earned extra money at home making dresses and ball gowns.

She was also a hairdresser for family and friends and was an accomplished ballroom dancer and a beautiful singer.

Enid was very proactive with her local Anglican church and worked on many committees of the church.

Enid remained active and kept good health until she moved to Carinity Cedarbrook when she was almost 101 years old.
