Chaplain’s Chat – Better together

In a world that often celebrates independence and individual achievement, it is special when
we celebrate communities committed to growing together in love.

The Bible reminds us that people are better together than apart. In 1 Corinthians 12:12–27, Paul
describes believers as one body, with every member essential. We are designed to depend on one another. Jesus also said the world would recognise God’s people by the way they love and serve one another (John 13:34–35).

For Jesus, relationships were never an optional extra. They were central to God’s design for humanity. He invested deeply in His disciples, shared meals with people from all walks of life, and taught that loving God and loving our neighbour are the greatest commandments.

Healthy relationships encourage us in difficult seasons, challenge us to grow, and remind us we are not meant to walk alone. A kind word, listening ear, or simple act of compassion can powerfully express God’s love.

Over the past few months, I have been blessed to attend Carinity celebrations where people have been honoured for their contribution to others. These everyday moments of connection
are where hope, healing, and faith often begin.

It’s a wonderful privilege to build bridges rather than walls by investing in relationships. Doing so enables Carinity communities to experience a greater sense of belonging and encountering the transforming love of Jesus in ordinary and lasting ways!
