Chaplain’s Chat – All I want for Christmas
As we approach Christmas, we’re reminded that God’s greatest gift was not wrapped in gold,
but in swaddling rags. The gift of His Son, Jesus, was the provision of hope, peace, and love, gifted to a world longing for compassion and care. His arrival was trumpeted by angels but he
was birthed in a humble stable. He was welcomed by shepherds and celebrated by travellers – the long-awaited humble servant king had finally come!
For us as a faith-based organisation, the Christmas season renews our purpose: to share that same servant-hearted leadership and compassionate love in practical ways. Every act of kindness, every word of encouragement, and every moment of service reflects the light of Christ in our community.
You and I may not be able to afford the extravagant gifts, but we can be like Jesus and follow His example by offering ourselves as a gift, bringing a commitment to caring for one another in gracious, humble ways!
May this Christmas be a time of joy, reflection, and gratitude – a moment to rest in God’s presence and celebrate His faithfulness. And as we look to 2026, let’s continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus, bringing hope to those who need it most.
“The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.” John 1:9
